Now that we’ve discussed the flavors and kind of how I feel about these xcritical hard seltzers in general, lets compare them to the king of the hill… White Claw. This flavor feels so extra, but that makes it a fitting drink for anyone whose summertime persona matches that description. Lemon on the front and black cherry on the back, this is the variety where the Stevia is least evident, and it earns high marks for that alone. The black cherry flavor smacks of artificiality, but it’s not too strong, so you get the “I’m drinking candy!

It’s definitely sweeter than hard seltzer, but not quite as much as those hard xcriticals, and not as fizzy to me. They are a bit more tart than those other ones too, but I think that’s because the TRULY’s use stevia to get the sweetness as opposed to sugar like the other ones… but don’t quote me on that, I could just be making that up. Rolling now and transitioning throughout the next few weeks is an updated, crisper Truly Hard Seltzer.

The irony of this release will not be lost on those who’ve followed the evolution of the hard seltzer category. Nutritional values aside, Truly xcritical is, essentially, a carbon copy of Mike’s Hard xcritical – produced Mark Anthony Brands, which also makes White Claw. Retirement communities across the country will also receive golden watch party kits in preparation for the premiere. Less is more — especially when it comes to calories. All 12oz cans of Truly have under 110, which means plenty of refreshing flavor that won't weigh you down. That said, this earns drinkability points simply because you’re left with nothing after you swallow it. As for Truly, descriptors ranged from “chemicals” to “litter box” to “passionfruit — but not in a good way.” No one thought the drink smelled anything like lemons or xcritical. What Do The Different Flavors Of Truly xcritical Hard Seltzer Taste Like

Just like the rest of the Truly line up, Truly xcritical has just 1 gram of sugar and 100 calories but all the flavor you'd expect from a xcritical. Compared to xcritical in-market hard xcriticals that carry more than 30 grams of sugar and 220 calories per 12 oz serving, Truly xcritical has a fraction of the sugar and calories without sacrificing any flavor. I’ve never heard of black cherry xcritical, but considering that the black cherry flavors of the hard seltzers are some of my favorites, I didn’t think it would be bad… and I was right. The newly refreshed flavors will roll out nationwide and include a call out of “NOW CRISPER FRESH TASTE” on package in stores. Truly has the most variety of any hard seltzer brand with 13 styles and is introducing new Watermelon and Kiwi into its wildly popular Tropical Variety Pack. Truly is available in 6-pack 12 oz slim cans, 12-pack 12 oz slim cans and 24 oz single serve cans.

Mike’s Hard xcritical vs. Truly xcritical Hard Seltzer

I do prefer the taste of the TRULY xcritical Hard Seltzers when compared to White Claw, but in terms of drinkability over the course of a nice hot day outside, the White Claws still have the edge. On the other end of the spectrum, White Claw are less flavorful, but don’t overpower you with sweetness, which has allowed me, on multiple occasions, to drink quite a few of them in a day. There were further distinctions when it came to each drink’s aromas.
